How will the district/teaching staff benefit from participating in this project?
The staff development activities are aligned with Illinois' new State K-12 Technology Plan and the technology pieces within No Child Left Behind. Our goal is to provide training, resources, and support to enhance educator's practice and assist in finding and implementing technology interventions that best support student learning.

What is the registration process for training?
Upon receipt of the team agreements, participants will be added to the EdTech grant membership database. A unique ID will be assigned to each participant. Immediately after being added to the database, participants will receive correspondence which provides their unique ID and the URL (website) for online registration.

Where do we go for online registration?
The web address or URL is http://www.area3ltc.net/pdc

Will CPDUs be available for professional development?
Yes

Are the Learning Cohort group members able to find out when they will need to attend the workshops before the district makes a commitment?

No. This will be decided upon receipt of cohort teams. We will let the district and participants know as soon as possible to allow time to register.

How and when will all of the Learning Cohort group members know what workshop they will need to attend?

Year one training locations and dates are in the packet. The Cohort group randomly assigned to begin training during this summer can select from the 'Group' dates and locations that are within their grade band. We are planning to add additional H.S. cohort dates. Training dates for Year 2 and Year 3 Learning Cohorts will be announced at a later time.

Must all of the members of a group (Learning Cohort, Core, etc.) attend the same workshop?
It depends on the group. The Learning Cohort members do not have to attend the same training times. The members will be regrouped with grade like groups. For example, Kindergarten teachers will form groups; First grade teachers will form groups; etc. The unit work is based on Illinois Learning Standards and objectives for their grade levels.

The District Core Team will need to attend the two-day NCREL retreat together
